Kitten Craziness - Today it was a Bird

Purrcy is enjoying full run of the house, basement included. So much so in fact that he missed the big excitement in the breezeway. Excitement that kept the other kitties occupied all day (I assume).

A small female sparrow somehow managed to fall into the wood stove's chimney and get herself stuck. I did not hear her this morning as I was rushing to get out the door to a client meeting (although I did wonder why Honey and Rumba were fixated on the stove) but I did hear the poor little thing when I got home fluttering around.

The kitties, including the clueless Purrcy were shooed out of the room and both doors and the windows were opened wide. The little soot covered bird flew out of the stove and spent the next twenty minutes flying around perching on everything but not finding her way out the door. Finally I was able to shoo her in the direction of the door and off and out she went. Her tail feathers were slightly damaged but she flew well and straight so once she gets all the soot off her feathers she ought to be fine. We got a nice amount of rain last night so the birdbath is nice and full and there are plenty of puddles to choose from.

Rumba and Honey were glued to the door glass from inside the house Purrcy between them looking a bit confused by it all.

He was also confused today by the cat carriers I pulled out of the basement to take Bon and Honey to the vet for their annual shots. I kept having to dump him out of the things while I dusted them off, he couldn't seem to understand that these devices are meant to take his siblings to a scary place. He doesn't understand why Honey has been in a bad mood since she got home either.

It is so confusing to be the baby...

My name is Ann Keating, and I knew you back in the 90s: we did theater together and played D&D in New London.

I found your blog because I googled your name to see if you had any books published. I'm not on Facebook, but my e-mail is anniev20 at juno dot com if you feel like dropping a note. I understand if you don't feel like it.
