Disposal of Unused Prescription Medications - Wake Up People!

I have a nasty sinus something. My doctor is treating it as an infection since it has been hanging around since December. I finally got fed up on Friday last and went to see about it. The problem at present is that the first antibiotic he prescribed was too strong and made me quite ill. So today he gave me something else which is so far working well. The problem? I have a bottle of pills that I have only taken one from. I attempted to return it to the pharmacy for disposal, since according to the state's information "most" pharmacies will do that. Apparently not Walgreens. In Ohio we also have a drug repository program for unused meds, but no collection site in this county. This program was signed into state law in 2006. Three years later and it isn't state-wide. Shouldn't the county health departments be collection points? So I ask how to responsibly dispose of these meds since I don't want more antibiotics to end up in the landfill and eventually the ground ...

Writing... I Miss It

I miss writing. Maybe you miss reading what I write. Maybe not. I only have 2 actual followers for this blog through the page itself so perhaps NO ONE is out there reading this... of course if I cross-post to Facebook people can read it there without having to "follow" the blog itself. Isn't that cheating?  I was "chatting" with an old friend the other day about blogging and becoming a professional blogger. Face it, 2 - count 'em 2! - followers is hardly a roaring endorsement of the potential here. But we also talked about having a theme. I sort of do... or thought I did. Space. Cats. Pawprints From Space. Yet mostly this is a place to rant about life, the universe and everything. Oh wait "the universe" that's SPACE!! But I digress (which was once a wonderful column in the Comic Buyer's Guide by the marvelous Peter David. And Here We Go... Kitten Craziness Day 1

Purrceval joined the household this afternoon at around 2:00 p.m. He did not have a nap until about 7:00 p.m. - has to be a record for kittens everywhere is certainly a record for kittens in this house. He still hasn't truly slept. It will be a long night methinks. Bonzai is taking it well, minor hissing and one good bop has the little kit in line already. His survival instincts are better than Rumba's were at this age. Rumba still doesn't take anyone seriously when they hiss at her, or growl, or slash, or bop.... Purrcy on the other hand, knows when not to push it. At least so far. Lucky is giving him a fairly wide berth after a couple of nose touches, actually he seems more afraid of her than she is annoyed by him. Which is amusing since she's the least threatening and similar in color to him and his mama (a gray tuxedo).  Honey hates him. But then Honey hates everyone. She's still not entirely thrilled with Rumba although they play together and on occasion sle...
