Kitten Craziness Day 10 - Wooden Floors Provide Zero Traction

Since the big kitties have yet to master the fine art of cornering when racing through the house as if their tails were on fire it is no wonder that little bitty kitties have a hard time with it too.

Of course little bitty kitties aren't real good at stopping either and the take off is funny when the back feet can't gain a purchase. It is like watching a cartoon. You know, the sort where the feet blur for a few frames before the character zooms out of the picture.

What I really like though is the straight up in he air kitten-got-startled by something. In this case it is usually Rumba zooming by that causes the boing! straight up, spin about in mid air and land all puffed up.

When you take a sharp corner when running on hard wood floors you have to be careful that your front paws don't end up going one direction while the back paws go in a completely different direction. When stopping try to use the paws not the head that slams into the footstool, sofa or anything else that happens to be directly in front of you. It is a very good thing that kittens have very hard heads. If for no other reason than big sisters bop you on the head really, really hard.

Bottle caps from 16 oz water bottles make really great toys. While they might snag on carpet, on wood floors they FLY!

Purrcy has (as you might have guessed) been having a REALLY good time tonight. Moving too fast for the camera but checking in with mama periodically to flop belly up for a rub and a lot of purring. No nap attacks so hopefully not much mischief to get into while mama is trying to sleep. Honestly though he's been really good in that department. Of course now I've jinxed it.  Still even if that turns out to be true when that little masked face looks up at you and chirps how can you stay angry?
