Kitten Craziness Day 5 - Purrcy Guards His Food
This morning Mr. Purrcy Paws didn't want an early morning cuddle. He'd much rather zoom around the house at top speeds thereby annoying the big kitties and yet the annoyance didn't show all that much. Oh sure, Honey snarled some and hissed a little but saved the majority of her vocal displeasure for Rumba, the normal morning brouhaha.
It was a shame to lock him in the bathroom but it was going to be a long day without being able to come home over lunch to check on him and unfortunately thanks to a last minute addition to the schedule that won't be possible tomorrow either. Hopefully Friday. The integration process continues to go well overall.
Purrcy's food is on the top level of his two story Hide, Perch and Go carrier during the evening so that he can quickly have an energy boost and (mostly) the big kitties have no idea it is there. Until tonight. Bonzai figured it out. An Purrcy got protective. A quick pounce and growl and the little bitty stared down the huge black cat who backed away slowly. Purrcy is not much bigger than my shoe and Bon is nearly 20 pounds of muscle.
In other news, the basement is considered off limits for kittens until they are big enough not to get stuck in small places or wiggle through the guards over the sump pump. Well tonight Ms. Honey didn't close the basement door behind her (when do children EVER close doors properly?) and the little stinker found his way downstairs, twice. Fortunately he comes when called. Have to watch that. As with all kittens he is inquisitive and wants to be wherever the big kitties are and at least in his case they don't seem to mind too much if he tags along.
Tummy rubs are his favorite "hi I'm so cute don'tcha just LOVE me" routine. You'd think he was a puppy considering how much he likes them. He leans in to your ankle and slides down your foot ears first until he is belly up looking up at you with those blue eyes, four paws in the air and white tummy all exposed. You can not resist. Resistance is futile.
Debating about leaving him out tonight. Will try it for a little while and see how it goes.
